Three Point Turn

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

The 3 point turn can be intimidating for new drivers, but with a little practice they’re actually quite simple. In this video, our driving instructor shows how to do a 3 point turn (or “turnabout”) correctly for your drivers exam.

Follow these steps to make safe and smooth three-point turns. It's as easy as, ahem, one-two-three

1: Stop, Signal, Check, Turn

2: Check, Reverse, Stop

3: Pull Forward

Tips

How to make a 3 point turn

  1. Check MSB (mirror signal blindspot) right and pullover close to the curb.

  2. Now check MSB to the left and turn the wheel full left & let the car go toward the left.

  3. Stop the car before the left curb and full stop

  4. Check MSB to the right and turn the wheel full right and let the car go toward right.

  5. Stop the car before the curb.

  6. Now check all and drive away.
